So When Should You Come See Us?

(some of these are facetious; some not; you figure out which is which…)

  • When you got your 1st test grade back and  it’s not the “A” that you anticipated
  • When the person you’ve been seeing for awhile and actually thought might be the one lets you know in not too subtle terms that s/he’s “just not that into you”
  • When you suddenly realize every single thought you’ve had about declaring Major “X” is wrong
  • Just because it’s been awhile and you want to run an idea by us or say hi
  • Because your roommate is driving you crazy
  • After someone in your family calls, emails, texts one too many times asking “Why haven’t you gotten into Business yet?!?”
  • When you are really worried. About anything. We’re good to talk to and can usually help refer you to someone
  • When you think you might wind up on probation and want to know what the heck “deficit points” are
  • When you want to know how to make  sure a course you take “at home” will transfer to UD
  • When you want to know how and when to apply to any major on campus
  • When you want to know where to get really good pizza. (like the kind you can get in NYC or New Haven)
  • When you want to know how to get more involved on campus-and off. Clubs and volunteer opportunities abound! Want to be needed – and appreciated? Just step up to the plate – your services will be!
  • Whenever things aren’t going so well (or when they are)
  • When you need encouragement
  • When you’re ready to declare (and when you’re not)
  • When you don’t feel like “asking Francis Alison” but feel like asking us
  • When you want to “ask a stupid question.” We say: “There aren’t any.”
  • When you’re struggling in a particular class and think you need a tutor or study group
  • When you want to find out if you can switch a class to Pass/Fail (remember-you gotta do that by 4/17, a.k.a. “The Eight-Week Deadline”)
  • When you want to know if you can drop a class and “What’s it mean if I have a “W” on my transcript, anyway?”
  • When your family keeps bugging you with “What can you do with a major in English (or History/Philosophy/Sociology/Political Science/Criminal Justice/East Asian Studies/Geography/Psychology/Wildlife Conservation Studies)? – but that (see list) is what you really want to major in?

Point being: ANYtime is a good time to talk to us. Remember: e-mail is good for quick Q&A. But you will get your best advisement when you see us in person. So don’t be a stranger!
